UK HM Treasury Sustainability Reporting Guidance 2026-27 (FReM) 5.7-A.16: UN Sustainable Development Goals: name the significant policies pursued on sustainability or environmental matters as the FReM requires, give a short description of each policy or a link to its specific GOV.UK page, and identify where activities contribute to relevant SDGs

What does 5.7-A.16 require?

The FReM's sustainability reporting section requires every central government body to identify the significant policies it pursues, whether they address sustainability as a whole or environmental matters in particular. The annual report user must also be given a brief account of each such policy, either written into the annual report and accounts or reached through a link to the specific policy page on GOV.UK (a general homepage will not do). Departments should pinpoint where their work advances the relevant SDGs in line with their policy responsibilities; the UN's SDG material can help tie goals, performance and indicators together.
