OSHA Safety and Health Regulations for Construction (29 CFR Part 1926) 1926.1439: 1926.1439 Dedicated pile drivers

Subpart CC applies to dedicated pile drivers (machines built only for pile driving, typically able both to hoist the pile and drive it) except as this section varies it. The anti two-blocking device requirement in 1926.1416(d)(3) does not apply to them. The load weighing and similar device requirement in 1926.1416(e)(4) applies only to units built after November 8, 2011. Of the design, construction and testing section, only 1926.1433(d) (rated capacity information, hooks, warnings, fire extinguisher, cabs, guarding and similar items) and 1926.1433(e) (reliance on manufacturer documentation) apply. All other provisions, including inspections, operator certification and evaluation, power line safety and signalling, apply as for other equipment.
