Extends the assembly and disassembly rules in 1926.1407 and the operating rules in 1926.1408 to power lines carrying more than 350 kV, with two changes. For lines above 350 kV up to and including 1,000 kV, every place those sections set a 20-foot distance, 50 feet must be used instead, so the initial proximity trigger, the Option 2 clearance, the elevated warning line position and similar measures shift to 50 feet. For lines above 1,000 kV, the minimum clearance distance is set by the utility owner or operator or by a registered professional engineer qualified in electric power transmission and distribution. All other provisions of 1926.1407 and 1926.1408, including the planning meeting, encroachment measures, presumption that lines are energized and the training topics, continue to apply.
