NSW Residential Tenancies Act 2010
Part 5: Termination by the landlord – NSW Residential Tenancies Act 2010

NSW Residential Tenancies Act 2010 s85-86: ss 85 and 86 Give only genuine grounds and true supporting documents

A landlord or agent does not give a termination notice on a ground that is not genuine, gives with the notice the supporting documents or information the Regulation requires for that ground (for example a copy of the sale contract, the proposed contract or the selling agency agreement, a written statement of the works and why vacancy is needed, the demolition contract and any development consent, or the landlord's written statement about who will move in), and does not give false or misleading documents or information. A defence exists only where it did not know and could not reasonably have found out.
