NSW Food Regulation 2025
Part 6: meat food safety scheme (sections 68 to 111, Schedules 4 to 6) – NSW Food Regulation 2025

NSW Food Regulation 2025 100-102: Hold issued meat brands in a locked place accessible only to the licensee and inspector, report a lost or stolen brand immediately and hand back the rest, and return brands and equipment within 7 days of the licence ending

What does 100-102 require?

Abattoirs and game plants obtain their prescribed brands from the Food Authority on written application, paying the cost of manufacture. The licence holder keeps every issued brand locked away where only it and the meat safety inspector can reach it; on learning a brand is lost or stolen it reports this to the Authority at once and returns the remaining brands before applying for new ones (a damaged brand may be replaced). Within 7 days after the licence stops being in force (suspensions aside) all brands and branding equipment go back to the Authority (25 penalty units).
