NHS England HTM 06-01 Electrical Services Supply and Distribution (2017 Edition) 13.15-13.32: Supplementary bonding and equipotential bonding busbar in Group 1 and 2 locations

Group 1 and Group 2 Medical Locations need supplementary equipotential bonding and an equipotential bonding busbar (EBB) under BS 7671 Section 710 to hold touch voltages under fault to no more than 25 V AC or 60 V DC. The EBB should be sized for the highest expected fault current (imaging), enclosed against tampering, located in or near the location with accessible, labelled, individually removable connections (not push-fit), and bonding conductors sized by calculation; Medical IT bonding should follow BS 7671. Where high protective conductor current is expected, earth monitoring may help maintain confidence in protective conductor continuity.
