NHS England HTM 06-01 Electrical Services Supply and Distribution (2017 Edition) 12.14-12.50: EMC zoning, cable segregation and earthing practice

The electromagnetic environment should be zoned for compatible emissions and immunity, with risk assessment at zone boundaries; emergency services radios and long cable runs should be considered. Cabling, containment, screening, separation and earthing should follow, as a minimum, BS 7671, BS EN 50174, BS EN 50310 and BS IEC 61000-5-2. UPS and rectifiers and transformers should be placed away from sensitive equipment; power and data cables should be separated (minimum distances in BS 7671 and BS EN 50174); the armour or screen of power cables should be bonded at each end; TN systems should be used wherever possible, with dedicated earth conductors back to the main earth terminal.
