Instructions and equipment must allow manual nonelectric transfer or bypass if the ATS fails; an adjustable delay with automatic bypass holds off retransfer to the preferred source and that delay is skipped automatically if the ECE or EPS fails; and each ATS has a test switch that simulates preferred-source failure, after which the ATS must do its job.
