Chapter 6: Transfer switches and protection – NFPA 111-2025 Standard on Stored Electrical Energy Emergency and Standby Power Systems

NFPA 111-2025 Standard on Stored Electrical Energy Emergency and Standby Power Systems 6.2.4.1-6.2.4.3: 6.2.4.1 to 6.2.4.3 ATS operation, source monitoring and interlocking

Automatic transfer switches operate electrically or electronically; transfer may be automatic and retransfer automatic or manual. The preferred source is monitored for under and over voltage on every ungrounded line, and the ECE and utility for unacceptable conditions; an out-of-tolerance source causes transfer to an alternate that is itself within tolerance; return to the preferred source can happen automatically after an adjustable stabilising delay, may be commanded manually and may be sequenced for heavy loads. Interlocking prevents unintended paralleling, except brief make-before-break overlap that both sources can sustain without tripping internal protection.

What else in your programme already covers this

This control maps to 1 controls across 1 other frameworks. If you already hold one of them, the evidence you collected for it is the starting point here rather than new work.

Every mapping shown was judged rather than inferred from wording similarity, and the ones that failed review are published too. See the coverage reports and what was rejected.
