Indoor Environment for Offices Rules v3.1 – NABERS - National Australian Built Environment Rating System

NABERS - National Australian Built Environment Rating System IE-9: Measure ambient sound and horizontal illuminance as specified

What does IE-9 require?

Chapters 9 and 10: ambient sound is measured at each location on a Level 1 or 2 meter in dBA, at least two minutes per reading; base building ratings take one reading excluding tenant noise, preferably in vacant facade space with normal HVAC or with under 10 % occupancy, while whole building and tenancy ratings take morning and afternoon readings in occupied space (avoiding 12:30 to 13:30 and abnormal spikes). Lighting (whole building and tenancy only) takes three horizontal illuminance readings within 5 m to 10 m of each location in the morning and three in the afternoon at occupied workstations of varied orientation, without altering blinds or lighting, with a meter of 20 to 20,000 lux accurate to 5 %.
