Chapter 7 (base and whole building only): the assessor determines natural, mechanical or mixed-mode ventilation (natural ventilation needs National Administrator guidance and evidence). Mechanically ventilated buildings record space temperature, mean radiant temperature, humidity and air speed at each location, morning and afternoon, as averages of at least five minutes logged at 10 seconds, assessed against the ASHRAE 55 PMV model with the specified instrument ranges and accuracies. Annual temperature data (optional, but scored zero if omitted) is hourly working-hours BMS data for the whole period from the sampled floors near the sampling points, scored through the Annual Temperature Data Calculator against 21 to 24.9 degrees C, accepted as whole if at least 90 % complete (never selectively trimmed) and otherwise capped at the share covered; sensors are verified by an independent professional or by the assessor checking at least 25 % of sensors against a NATA-calibrated thermometer to within 0.5 degrees C, checking three more for each failure. Naturally ventilated buildings use the ASHRAE 55 adaptive model and daily averages with outdoor data.
