Indoor Environment for Offices Rules v3.1 – NABERS - National Australian Built Environment Rating System

NABERS - National Australian Built Environment Rating System IE-4.6: Select floors and locations by the priority rules and record them in a sample collection plan

What does IE-4.6 require?

4.6 to 4.8: before the visit the assessor selects occupied office floors in priority order (highest, lowest, directly below then above a mid-rise plant room, furthest from central supply fans, then to represent HVAC systems), and locations in typical open-plan space, one per perimeter zone in the order west, north, east, south, then centre, 1 m to 3 m from the glazed facade and not in support facilities or enclosed offices. At least one and up to four plant rooms supplying the assessed space are sampled (majority-serving first) and how outside air reaches the building is recorded; naturally ventilated buildings measure outdoor air 1 m to 2 m above ground near the entrance or use Bureau of Meteorology data from within 20 km. A sample collection plan records building size and occupancy, ventilation type, floors, proposed and actual locations and site notes including the intake, and explains every change; the client may say which spaces are leased but must not choose floors or locations.
