Indoor Environment for Offices Rules v3.1 – NABERS - National Australian Built Environment Rating System

NABERS - National Australian Built Environment Rating System IE-5: Run the Occupant Satisfaction Survey through an approved provider before measuring

What does IE-5 require?

Chapter 5: whole building and tenancy ratings need an Occupant Satisfaction Survey run through a NABERS-approved provider (BOSSA, Building Use Studies, the Center for the Built Environment or Sustainable and Healthy Environments). The assessor sets it up with the provider, works out the minimum responses in the input form, emails it to all occupants of the building or tenancy (excluding visitors and contractors engaged for under 3 months), monitors and reminds, closes it within four weeks accepting nothing later, and confirms a valid return rate; if the minimum is not met a new survey must be completed before the site visit, otherwise the rating cannot proceed. Scores are entered per parameter and office layout is scored from the survey alone.
