3.7 and 8.1: copies of original documents may be used if the assessor is satisfied they are true and complete, with partial copies identifying the original's date, title and file name. The assessor keeps every record the assessment rests on, to a standard that lets another assessor or an auditor accurately repeat the rating from the documents alone, including assumptions, calculations and estimate bases and any National Administrator guidance or approvals; summaries or derivative documents quoting the originals are not acceptable. Digital copies are acceptable. Records are kept for seven years from lodgement and produced for audit on request; assessors remain responsible for their ratings after changing employer.
