Japan Act on Specified Commercial Transactions (Act No. 57 of 1976) Art.12-6(1): Art. 12-6(1) Final confirmation screen: mandatory display (from 1 June 2022)

When receiving a specified application, meaning an order made on a paper form of the seller's (or its contractor's) design or through a procedure displayed on the customer's screen (the online checkout), the seller must show on the form or final screen the quantity of goods, rights or services and the Article 11 items 1 to 5: price including shipping, payment timing and method, delivery timing, any application period, and the withdrawal and cancellation terms. Failing to display or displaying falsely is a criminal offence (Article 70: up to three years' detention or JPY 3 million, corporations up to JPY 100 million), and the customer may rescind an order made through the resulting mistake (Article 15-4).
