ISO/IEC/IEEE 29148:2018 - Systems and Software Engineering - Requirements Engineering 9.5.15: 9.5.15 SyRS content: policy and regulation, life cycle sustainment, packaging and transport

The SyRS turns the organization's policies and business practices that bear on how the system operates or performs, and any relevant outside regulation, into requirements (support for several languages, employment policy and the protection of staff data are examples), and states the health and safety requirements that follow for equipment design, ways of operating and environmental effects such as toxic substances or electromagnetic radiation (9.5.15); outlines how the system will be sustained over its life, including quality work like reviews and gathering and analysing measurements, and the facilities for front-line and depot support, spare parts, sourcing, supply and provisioning, technical documents and data, training of support staff and of the first operating cadre, and early logistics support by the contractor (9.5.16); and sets requirements so the system can be packed, handled, shipped, moved and stored as its operational setting demands (9.5.17).
