ISO/IEC/IEEE 29148:2018 - Systems and Software Engineering - Requirements Engineering 9.3.10: 9.3.10 BRS content: business processes, policies and rules, constraints, modes, quality and structure

The BRS describes the business processes and the possible system interfaces within them, decomposed and classified in an ordered structure, each process given a unique name and number and drawn as an activity-sequence diagram (9.3.10); the business operational policies and rules, the logical propositions that start, branch or end activities, judgement criteria or formulas, each uniquely named and numbered and referenced from the process descriptions (9.3.11); the operational constraints on how processes are conducted, whether performance limits or management requisites such as monitoring every occurrence (9.3.12); the operational modes for unsteady states, including manual operation when the system is unavailable after an accident or disaster (9.3.13); the required level of operational quality, which may include high-level usability and quality-in-use objectives (9.3.14); and the structures in the business that matter to the system: departments and divisions, roles and responsibilities, geography and shared resources (9.3.15).
