Each requirements information item kept in document form includes identification (a title plus a revision notice that together single out the document, with revision information such as project name, document version, release date, approval signature, changed subclauses and the history of earlier versions); front matter (table of contents, list of figures, list of tables); definitions of words or phrases with special meaning; references (a complete list of the documents cited, each identified by title, report number where applicable, date and publisher, with where to obtain them, preferably split into a compliance part for documents whose requirements are included by citation and a guidance part for documents giving information only); and every acronym and abbreviation spelled out or defined, possibly by reference to an appendix or another document.
