The BRS defines the external and internal environmental factors to consider when understanding the business and eliciting stakeholder requirements, including the market, laws and regulation, social responsibility and the available technology (9.3.6); describes the business results the proposed system is meant to deliver (9.3.7); describes how the business mission will be achieved, concentrating on the methods the system supports, such as the product and service range, regions and locales, sales channels, alliances and partners, and the financial and revenue model (9.3.8); and describes the organization-level strategy for common bases across information systems: the project portfolio's priorities, positioning and constraints, the long-term system plan's infrastructure or architecture decisions as design constraints, and the organization-level database configuration plan with any constraints on access to global data (9.3.9).
