Framework for the governance of IT – ISO/IEC 38500:2024

ISO/IEC 38500:2024 7.2.2: Direction

The governing body sets the direction for the organization's use of IT and aligns IT objectives with the organization's objectives. The direction rests on defined strategies that are kept under review, and those strategies take account of the organization's purpose, objectives and value generation model and, on the IT side, of emerging technologies, the organization's digital capabilities, external stakeholders and the chances to create value through IT embedded in products and services.
