ISO 55001:2024 7.6: Data and information

What does 7.6 require?

The organization (a) decides what data and information it needs to support asset management (a note names activities that can draw on it: taking decisions, managing risk, meeting what law, regulators and other stakeholders require, managing the life cycle and reporting performance); (b) sets specifications for that data and information covering attributes, units of measure, quality and source; and (c) plans how data and information will be collected, integrated, improved in quality and shared. It also decides and puts in place requirements for: its data and information management processes (a note lists acquisition, transformation, storage, control, sharing, archiving and deletion across an asset's life cycle stages); sharing information with stakeholders; and keeping information and terminology aligned, consistent and traceable between its financial and non-financial functions, with any necessary differences recorded as documented information and communicated.

You are reading one control. How much of ISO 55001:2024 have you already done?

ISO 55001:2024 7.6 is one control. If you already hold one of the frameworks below, a reviewed crosswalk already says how much of ISO 55001:2024 your existing evidence covers. Hold ISO 55001:2014 and 27 of 38 ISO 55001:2024 controls already carry evidence.

Each report names every control your existing framework evidences, every one it does not, the reasoning behind each claim, and the claims that were argued against and rejected. 0 were rejected on the ISO 55001:2014 pair alone.
