ISO 55001:2024 7.5.1: General

What does 7.5.1 require?

The asset management system includes (a) the documented information the standard calls for, (b) the documented information the organization judges necessary for the system to work, and (c) documented information needed for applicable legal and regulatory requirements. A note explains that how much is documented can vary with the organization's size and the kind of activities, processes, products and services it has, how complex its processes are and how they interact, how competent its people are, and how many assets and asset systems it has and how varied, complex and critical they are. The rules for creating and controlling documented information (7.5.2, 7.5.3) also cover data and knowledge that are documented, to the extent the organization needs.
