ISO 37500:2014
Clause 9: Phase 4, Deliver value – ISO 37500:2014

ISO 37500:2014 9.6: Deliver innovation (optional, ongoing)

What does 9.6 require?

Establish and implement procedures to deliver additional value through innovation where client business drivers require it for competitive advantage: the relationship should reflect that need, a formal innovation process be established, a governance committee provide strategic direction, supervision and control, often with a joint innovation or research centre, and the agreements state clearly how intellectual property is owned. Activities: capture ideas (Annex H funnel); explore business benefits and the investment case; qualify and select candidates to pursue; develop initiatives as formally sponsored projects; trial them and prove the business case enhancement; and request formal transformation approval from the committee (CEN/TS 16555-1). Success factors: joint investment, clear IP ownership, effective management of the innovation portfolio. Outputs: innovation investment proposals, intellectual property, requests for transformation approval.
