Applies to miscellaneous units (units not otherwise covered, such as open burning and open detonation units or thermal treatment devices) (264.600). Permit terms and provisions must protect human health and the environment, preventing releases with adverse effects through ground water or the subsurface, surface water, wetlands or the soil surface, and air, taking into account the volume and characteristics of the waste, the unit's design and operation, the hydrogeology, climate, existing quality, proximity and use of receptors, and potential for exposure and damage, and including appropriate requirements of Subparts I to O, AA to CC, Part 270, Part 63 subpart EEE and Part 146 (264.601). Monitoring, analysis, inspection, response, reporting and corrective action must be done as the permit specifies to assure compliance with 264.601, 264.15, 264.33, 264.75 to 264.77 and 264.101 (264.602). A unit that is a disposal unit must receive post-closure care under 264.117 to 264.120 with appropriate requirements of 264.601 (264.603).
