Incompatible wastes or materials (Appendix V examples) must not be placed in the same container unless 264.17(b) is met; hazardous waste must not be put in an unwashed container that held an incompatible waste or material; and a container of waste incompatible with wastes or materials stored nearby in containers, piles, open tanks or surface impoundments must be separated or protected by a dike, berm, wall or other device.
