BRCGS Global Standard for Food Safety Issue 9 5.8.3: Procedures for medicated pet food and feed: identification, supplier approval, training, segregation, rework, cleaning and records

What does 5.8.3 require?

A site that handles medicated pet food or feed must have specific procedures for medicated materials and products. These include identifying every material that contains medication; approving suppliers to a level equivalent to section 3.5.1; training staff specifically; segregating and controlling production and rework; validated cleaning between medicated and unmedicated production; and records showing that control is maintained.
