BRCGS Global Standard for Food Safety Issue 9 5.4.7: Claims substantiated, validated and protected through a documented process flow

What does 5.4.7 require?

Where a product is designed so that a claim can be made about it, every claim must be substantiated; the formulation and process must be validated as meeting the claim and the law of the country of sale; the process flow must be documented, identifying where contamination or loss of identity could occur; and controls must be set up to protect the claim's integrity.
