Australian Dangerous Goods Code Edition 7.8 (Consignor and Transport Duties)
Consignment: overpacks, empty packagings, marking and labelling (Chapters 5.1 and 5.2) – Australian Dangerous Goods Code Edition 7.8 (Consignor and Transport Duties)

Australian Dangerous Goods Code Edition 7.8 (Consignor and Transport Duties) 5.1.3-5.1.4: Empty uncleaned packagings stay marked and labelled; mixed packing carries every substance's marks

What does 5.1.3-5.1.4 require?

A packaging that previously held dangerous goods (other than Class 7) remains identified, marked and labelled for those goods until it has been freed of them; receptacles that carried radioactive material may not be reused until decontaminated below the stated activity levels; unused pre-labelled packagings should be flagged as unused on the documents, the outer packaging or the vehicle so that emergency responders are not misled. Where two or more dangerous goods share an outer packaging, the package carries the marks and labels for each, with subsidiary hazard labels omitted only where the hazard is already shown by a primary label.
