Australia Reducing Scam Calls and Scam SMs Industry Code (C661:2022) 4.6: Block confirmed Scam Calls and tell the ACMA and agencies about their origin and transit path

Once scam calls are confirmed, a C/CSP blocks them promptly on origination and in transit, unless it reasonably believes the number was spoofed. Every provider in the transit path shares the origin information with the ACMA (Appendix B) and the transit-path details with the relevant government agencies. The originating provider investigates and acts against its own directly connected customers, which should include disconnecting the offending service. A provider that has itself detected scam traffic on the section 4.1 and 4.2 indicators may block the number. Numbers found to originate scam calls are blocked and not delivered to B-Parties, interconnection partners or international operators. Where one device is repeatedly used across different numbers, its IMEI or PEI may be blocked across all Australian mobile carriers without warning.
