Section 4: Scam Calls – Australia Reducing Scam Calls and Scam SMs Industry Code (C661:2022)

Australia Reducing Scam Calls and Scam SMs Industry Code (C661:2022) 4.2a: Domestic origination: carry calls only from numbers the caller is entitled to use, and send clean CLI

An originating C/CSP stops calls whose A-Party lacks Rights of Use to the presented number; transit and terminating providers are not asked to validate CLI on traffic received at interconnection or via redirection. No C/CSP hands a call to an international operator without an A-Party CLI, or with a CLI outside ITU-T E.164 unless it belongs to an inbound roaming service or another format has been agreed with that operator. Calls presenting 13, 1300, 1800 or 1900 numbers as the calling number are not delivered to B-Parties or passed across interconnection.
