Australia Reducing Scam Calls and Scam SMs Industry Code (C661:2022) 4.2c: Counter CLI Spoofing: investigate, pass notifications up the chain, and report confirmed cases to the ACMA

When an originating C/CSP sees a material spoofing problem in its own customers' calls it investigates and acts to stop it, and if spoofing is confirmed sends the Appendix B details (the A-Party CLI where possible) to the ACMA by the agreed electronic channel. A C/CSP that detects material suspected spoofing in traffic received from another provider raises it promptly with the originating or delivering transit provider, copying the ACMA; each transit provider forwards the notification toward the source until the originating provider or international operator is reached. On confirmation, the originating or adjacent transit provider reports to the ACMA using Appendix B; if spoofing is ruled out, the finding travels back along the same chain to the notifying provider, again with the ACMA copied.
