Each employee must be engaged in one of three categories: daily hire (plumbing and mechanical services classifications only), weekly hire, or casual. When engaging someone the employer must inform them in writing of the terms of engagement and, in particular, which of the three categories applies. A weekly hire employee is subject to the notice rules in clause 33, and a full-time weekly hire employee averages 38 ordinary hours a week (clause 10).
