The employer must let the apprentice go to a Registered Training Organisation in ordinary working hours for the off-the-job part of the apprenticeship, with no reduction in pay. For an apprentice other than a school-based one, time at training and assessment specified in or linked to the training contract is treated as time worked for the employer when calculating wages and deciding employment conditions.
