The employer must reimburse the apprentice for fees for prescribed courses and for prescribed textbooks (except those held in the employer's technical library) that the apprentice pays for training specified in, or connected with, the training contract. Payment is due within 6 months after the start of the apprenticeship or of its relevant stage, or within 3 months of the RTO starting the training, whichever is later, unless progress is unsatisfactory. Paying the provider directly within 6 months of the start of the apprenticeship or stage satisfies the obligation.
