Unless a State or Territory law says otherwise, for each day an apprentice is absent in a year of the term without the employer's consent, the employer may require the apprentice to serve an extra day at the end of that year's calendar period, and the next year does not start until the extra days are served. When calculating extra time, the apprentice must be credited with any time worked in that year beyond ordinary hours.
