Part 7.1: Hazardous chemicals – Australia Model Work Health and Safety Regulations

Australia Model Work Health and Safety Regulations r368-370: rr 368 to 370 Provide, and inform workers about, health monitoring for Schedule 14 and other significant exposures

A PCBU ensures health monitoring is provided to a worker doing ongoing work with hazardous chemicals where there is a significant risk to health from exposure to a Schedule 14 table 14.1 chemical, or a significant risk of exposure to another chemical where valid techniques exist to detect health effects or valid biological exposure measures exist and it is uncertain whether the biological exposure standard has been exceeded; gives information about the monitoring requirements to prospective workers and to workers before they start the work; and ensures the monitoring includes the type listed in Schedule 14 unless an experienced registered medical practitioner recommends an equal or better type.
