Part 7.1: Hazardous chemicals – Australia Model Work Health and Safety Regulations

Australia Model Work Health and Safety Regulations r330-331: rr 330 and 331 Manufacturers and importers prepare, review and provide safety data sheets

A manufacturer or importer prepares a safety data sheet complying with Schedule 7 clause 1 before first manufacturing or importing the hazardous chemical (or, if not practicable, before first supplying it), reviews it at least every 5 years, amends it whenever needed to keep it correct and current, and provides the current SDS to anyone likely to be affected who asks (these continuing duties lapse if it has not made or imported the chemical for 5 years). For research chemicals, waste products and samples for analysis where full compliance is not reasonably practicable, an SDS complying with Schedule 7 clause 2 is prepared.
