Information about identified hazards and the action taken or required should be recorded and handed from the design phase to those in later stages, so they know the residual risks and are less likely to alter or remove design safety features. The designer must give adequate information to each person provided with the design, to give effect to it, about each purpose the structure was designed for, the results of any calculations, testing, analysis or examination, and any conditions needed so that the structure is without risk when used for its designed purpose or during construction, maintenance and demolition. On request the designer must, so far as reasonably practicable, provide this information to anyone carrying out relevant activities (WHS Act s 22).
