Australia Model Code of Practice: Preparation of Safety Data Sheets for Hazardous Chemicals s8-standards: Section 8: list the Australian workplace exposure standards (TWA, STEL, peak, notations) for each ingredient and generated contaminant, using recognised overseas limits where none exist

What does s8-standards require?

Section 8 should advise on measures to keep exposure as low as possible and below the relevant exposure standard. It should list the available exposure standards, with all notations, for each hazardous ingredient and for any extra air contaminants generated in intended use, usually as an eight-hour time-weighted average, plus short-term exposure limits and peak limitations where they exist. Where there is no Australian standard, overseas limits (for example those of the UK HSE, ACGIH or the German DFG) should be used. Because standards are revised, an up-to-date source such as Safe Work Australia's workplace exposure standards for airborne contaminants or the Hazardous Chemicals Information System should be checked.
