Effective risk management starts with commitment from those who run the business, backed by the cooperation of workers, supply chain partners and other businesses. Managers demonstrate it by getting involved so they understand the hazards, consulting workers and other duty holders, investing time and money, making sure people understand their responsibilities and have the skills to work safely, and applying the same safety values to their own work.
