Australia Model Code of Practice: How to Manage Work Health and Safety Risks 1.1c: 1.1 Designers, manufacturers, importers, suppliers and installers keep their products free of risk

Those who design, manufacture, import, supply or install plant, substances or structures for use at work must ensure, so far as is reasonably practicable, that the item is without risks to health and safety. That includes testing and analysis and providing specific safety information. The Regulations require consultation and information sharing along the chain: manufacturers consult plant designers, importers consult designers and manufacturers, and the person who commissions construction work consults the structure's designer.
