Australia Health Insurance (Accredited Pathology Laboratories, Approval) Amendment (Relevant Standards) Principles (No. 3) 2026
Schedule 1 Part 1, items 1 to 8: the approval machinery – Australia Health Insurance (Accredited Pathology Laboratories, Approval) Amendment (Relevant Standards) Principles (No. 3) 2026

Australia Health Insurance (Accredited Pathology Laboratories, Approval) Amendment (Relevant Standards) Principles (No. 3) 2026 part1-high-confidence-object: The high-confidence object

What does part1-high-confidence-object require?

Item 2 omits "in principle" from paragraph 6(2)(e). That paragraph is one of the objects of the Principles. It says that premises will be approved, and will remain approved, for the kinds of pathology services and the category only if it is established with a high level of confidence that the services meet, and can be expected to continue to meet, the relevant standards. The amendment removes the in-principle reference so that the object matches the single approval that now exists. The high-confidence threshold itself is unchanged.
