Australia Health Insurance (Accredited Pathology Laboratories, Approval) Amendment (Relevant Standards) Principles (No. 3) 2026 part1-assessment-report: The assessment report condition

What does part1-assessment-report require?

Item 5 omits "in principle" from subsection 11(4). The subsection says that, absent exceptional circumstances, the Minister must not give an approval unless satisfied that the assessment report supports the approval of the premises as an accredited pathology laboratory for the kinds of services and the category covered by the application. The amendment removes the reference to an in-principle approval. The requirement that the report support the actual approval, for the actual scope, remains.
