When a shiftworker goes onto shift, changes shift or goes back to day work, they must have a break of no less than 10 consecutive hours after finishing day work, shiftwork and any overtime, without losing pay for ordinary time or ordinary shift time in that break. If the employer instructs them to resume or keep working before they have had those 10 hours, they receive 200% of the ordinary hourly rate up to their release, and are then entitled to 10 hours off without loss of pay for ordinary time in that period.
