For shiftworkers not on continuous work, ordinary hours average 38 a week over one of these cycles: 38 hours in up to 7 consecutive calendar days, 76 in up to 14, 114 in up to 21, or 152 in up to 28 consecutive days. They work when the employer requires, provided a shift is no more than 8 ordinary hours including crib (up to 12 by agreement with the employee or majority), ordinary hours are continuous, crib is timed by the employer but no one works more than 5 hours without it, and, apart from the regular change-over, nobody works two shifts inside 24 hours.
