Part 2: Types of Employment – Australia Electrical, Electronic and Communications Contracting Award 2020 (MA000025)

Australia Electrical, Electronic and Communications Contracting Award 2020 (MA000025) 12.8: 12.8 Reimburse apprentice training fees and prescribed textbooks on time

Unless the apprentice's progress is unsatisfactory, the employer must reimburse an apprentice attending a technical college, school, RTO or TAFE for all fees they paid (less any government reimbursement of those fees) and for the cost of prescribed textbooks for training in or connected with the training contract (other than books held in the employer's technical library). Reimbursement is due within 6 months of the start of the apprenticeship or of its relevant stage, or within 3 months of the RTO starting the training, whichever is later. Paying the fees and textbooks directly to the training provider within 6 months of the start of the apprenticeship or stage satisfies the obligation.
