An unfinished work site must be left safe for others. Recommended measures: terminate exposed conductors to at least IP 2X (AS 60529) with mechanical protection or restraint; fit safety or information tags; use barriers or tape to keep unauthorised people out; tell relevant parties the work is incomplete and what hazards remain; make sure the installation cannot become energized; label switchboards and equipment clearly with their status; and give enough information for others to continue safely, including a handover procedure between shifts.
