Where platform occupants must use fall-arrest rated equipment: if no anchorage with at least 12 kN ultimate strength can be found, the operator must use restraint technique that prevents reaching or climbing to a fall position, still wearing fall-arrest rated equipment; with an anchorage of 12 kN up to under 15 kN, a restrained or limited free fall system may be used; an operator should not reach a free fall position unless attached to at least 15 kN; swing falls should be considered where the anchorage is not above or behind the operator (for example at the end of a swing stage anchored in the centre, where an internal horizontal lifeline may help); and personal equipment follows Table 2.1 (AS 1418 and AS 2550 give advice on platform anchorages).
