Aged Care Serious Incident Response Scheme (SIRS) Provider Guidance rep-neglect: Report neglect as now defined

Neglect is where the registered provider, an aged care worker or a responsible person delivered services that expose the individual to risk of serious injury or illness, caused or contributed (including through reckless or intentional conduct) to a significant failure to deliver services or to a systematic pattern of conduct, delivered grossly inadequate services, or was reckless or intentionally negligent. The Commission looks at the number and period of events when judging a pattern, and expects reporting on suspicion without definite proof.
