A designer (s 27) and a manufacturer (s 29) of plant must, considering noise emission and exposure, design or make the plant with a sound power level as low as reasonably practicable. Where plant used as intended may expose an employee above the noise exposure standard, the manufacturer must determine its sound power level and supply a record of that level with the plant. A supplier (s 30) must pass on any sound power level record it received from whoever it acquired the plant from, and must take reasonably necessary steps to obtain such a record from that person.
